Our Engagement Approach



Our network of experts and affiliates has been built through decades of association with each other through projects, companies, events, and experiences. Many of us have served as CIOs, CTOs, and senior executives of some of the world's largest and most technically advanced companies. We love a challenge - and we always focus on innovative and tangible results.

 
Many of our engagements involve a series of executive, IT, business, and customer interviews mixed in with pre-scheduled stakeholder workshops every few weeks. Our teams are generally comprised of a project lead supported by one or more subject matter experts (SMEs). We prefer a mix of client personnel imbedded with our team members to insure solid owership of the business or technology outcome.
 
We use our own VBAM (Vision Based Agile Methodology) frameworks, project plans, deliverables lists, and team organization charts to build our proposals to insure that the engagement outcome and deliverables are well defined before the work is started. We have years of experience in defining and executed these types of projects and we draw from our extensive archives of past project frameworks and plans to build our newest SOWs and proposals.
 
If our team is assessing a data center, an enterprise architecture, or a security design, we may need to physically examine the various hosting or on-premise sites, or possibly login to the target technologies that have been defined within the engagement scope.
 
We bill expenses using the approved GSA rate tables for both public and private clients. We use federal and state pre-negotiated contracts (through our partners) whenever possible. 
 
 
We generally do most of our engagements on a fixed bid basis rather than by tracking and billing actual hours. However, for some larger projects, we may need to bill based on time and materials for flexibility with staff schedules and the business pace. Our rates for this situation are competitive. Some of our interim, advisement, and tune-up engagements can be contracted on a retainer basis if preferred.
